Every year 14 million mothers develop severe bleeding after childbirth called Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH)

It is also known that about 2% of them will die, with an average of 2 – 4 hours from the start of bleeding to death – PPH is responsible for ~100,000 deaths each year and is the leading cause of maternal death worldwide
